RIP Paul - Long Live Bo Si!

After the sad demise of Paul the octopus, it seems there’s a new kid on the psychic animal block – and this time he’s fluffy!

A Chinese panda named Bo Si recently impressed sports fans by predicting a winner in the Asian Games, currently being held in his native land.

Bo Si, who is one of 12 giant pandas who live at Xiangjiang Safari Park in Guangzhou, predicted that a Chinese athlete would win the games’ first gold medal. Lo and behold, the first medal was indeed awarded to China’s Yuan Xiaochao who bagged gold in the martial art of Wushu.

However, sceptics argue that Bo Si’s selection methods are less than scientific as the panda makes psychic predictions by selecting either bamboo shoots for a local athlete or an apple for a foreigner. Ever seen a panda eating an apple? Nope, us neither...

    Supporters of a Lebanese TV psychic condemned to death by a Saudi court are celebrating the quashing of his sentence. Once a well-known television fortune-teller across the Arab region, Ali Sibat was detained by the Saudi Arabian authorities while on pilgrimage to the country back in 2008. The practice of fortune telling is illegal in Saudi and, on the grounds of his previous TV appearances, Mr Sibat was found guilty on the charge of sorcery which is punishable by beheading.

  • Paul the Octopus - RIP

    Sad news for all fans of the phenomenon that was Paul the Octopus. The eight-legged wonder who correctly predicted all of Germany's World Cup results has died. According to sources at the Oberhausen Sea Life Centre where Paul lived, the Weymouth-born octopus died peacefully of natural causes. The common octopus only has a life expectancy of a few years so Paul's demise was not completely unexpected for the staff who found him lifeless in his tank.
