Marvellous massage

Researchers have proved what massage-devotees already knew - far from being just a pleasant bit of down time, massages can actually improve your health!

Scientists at the University of Granada have produced evidence demonstrating that massage improves our physiological state, as well as our psychological one. In fact, just 30 minutes of massage therapy resulted in patients reporting relief from tension headaches within just 24 hours.

Key to the study's success was the massage of specific trigger points throughout the body which cause pain when left untreated.

With tension or 'stress' headaches becoming increasingly common as our pace of life becomes more furious, the researchers' findings promise sufferers relief from their symptoms without the need for painkillers.
