Letting Your Spirit Guide Lead You On A Journey
Each of us has a spirit guide, whether we are aware of it or not. Spirit guides are the psychic manifestations of those who have lived before but, upon death, chosen not to go over to the spirit realm. As a result of their proximity to Earth, they have honed their own psychic talents to such an extent that, if we choose to and they are willing, we can make contact with them.
What are Spirit Guides?
Spirit guides watch over us and guide us, even though most of us do not register their presence. However, those who do make themselves known to us are keen to help us with our spiritual evolution and can offer insight into the challenges that face us along life’s path. But, just as there are spirits who would facilitate our psychic growth, there are those who do not have our best interests at heart. In order to begin your journey with your true spirit guide, you must first establish trust.
Spirit guides do not manifest as ghosts. Often, they are sensed as a presence, random images that seem to come from a particular source or even strong feelings that appear to have no obvious root. As time passes, you will be able to discern your guide’s identity; you may even find that they are a relation or someone you have known. Equally, they may be someone from the distant past with whom you have no link.
Contacting your guide is a question of providing a safe environment for you both. Begin by entering a meditative state and visualizing a calm and peaceful landscape; a garden, for example. Take time to create as much detail as you can and select qualities that make you feel secure. This may be particular plants or particular time of day; whatever is personal to you. Slowly, put yourself in the picture, waiting. This shows your guide that you are ready to embrace and respect what they have to offer.
After some time, you may find that you are experiencing random images, emotions or thoughts. Listen to them: these are the first signs that your spirit guide is ready to take you on a journey to inner harmony.
