It’s in the stars for Joanna Lumley

For decades, Joanna Lumley has been a much-loved fixture on our TV screens, from Coronation Street to The Avengers and her award-winning role in Ab Fab, pictured.

Now she can add the role of political activist to her CV following her battle to allow the Nepalese Gurkhas, who have fought for Britain for 200 years, to settle here.

A meeting with PM Gordon Brown led the glamorous actress to say she was confident an agreement could be struck.

Joyce Hopwell, writing on astrodispatch.com, looked at Lumley’s chart at the time of her high-profile fight. She says: ‘Her Age Point is in the 11th House and in Libra, the Sign which seeks fair play and justice. It is coming into conjunction with Neptune, the planet associated with high ideals, visions of what may be, selflessness and compassion. Lumley is doing something she passionately believes in, and she’s doing it for others, not for herself or to advance her career or raise her profile.’

Hopwell also notes that Lumley has Mars/Pluto qualities backing and supporting the Neptunian urge to support Gurkha rights and that when she spoke of her meeting with the PM she did so in terms of silk and fire.

She adds, ‘In effect, Lumley has boxed Brown into taking action in a very classy and stylish way, effectively demonstrating a combination of Neptunian ideals underpinned by a Martian and Plutonic-like energy - not unlike the formidable fearlessness of the Gurkhas themselves.’

  • Here’s where it’s at!

My boyfriend and I decided we were desperate to get away for a few days and relax recently, and by complete coincidence an email popped into my inbox from my friend Kate telling me about an amazing deal she’d found to Spain. For £170 each, her and her boyfriend were going away for a four day all-inclusive break in a four star hotel and she asked if we fancied going along.
