Death threats for Paul the octopus!
Disgruntled footie fans threaten to make a meal out of the world’s most famous eight-legged fortune-teller!
For weeks now, Paul the octopus from Germany has been stunning World Cup followers across the globe with his uncannily accurate match predictions. But despite having forecasted the result of all of his home team’s six matches correctly, Paul has found himself in hot water.
It seems that following Germany’s victory over Argentina, some South American fans threatened to wreak revenge by eating the eight-legged oracle. Thankfully, it sounds like Paul’s keeper, Oliver Walenciak, has his back: “There are always people who want to eat our octopus but he is not shy and we are here to protect him as well. He will survive."
However, after Paul recently foresaw in one of his psychic readings that Germany would be knocked out of the tournament by Spain, and that the Spaniards would go on to win the tournament, we’re wondering whether he may find himself a little less popular with home fans too!
