Terence Stamp has revealed that he owes his famously good speaking voice to the advice of an astrologer.
The Oscar-winning British actor says he would never have considered taking vocal and breathing coaching if it hadn’t been for the insights of a woman called Patricia, whom he met on a film set.
Stamp admits that he never thought he could become a finely-spoken actor as he wasn’t a good speaker as a child. But all that changed on the set of Frederico Fellini’s film Histories Extraordinaires, when the director’s astrologer agreed to read his chart.
Stamp says: ‘She was my interpreter and she told me all kinds of things I didn't know about myself. Patricia, the astrologer, told me I had the moon in Taurus, which means potentially you have a wonderful voice. At age 27, I went back to school, gave up marijuana and addicted myself to voice and breathing.’
