Starsign: Leo, I know everyone says their starsign is the best, but I like being a Leo. It makes people think you’re feisty.

Background: I started working at Smash Hits when I was 19 as Mark Frith’s PA. I then went to work on More magazine but have been freelance since I was 21 except for a 3-year stint at Heat.
 
Psychic past: I’ve always been fascinated by psychics and went from an early age. The psychics always told me I had the gift, they said the same to my mum and my great-gran was psychic too.
A friend of mine is a healer and helped me explore it and one day I started doing readings. I had no idea where the messages came from but once I started I found I couldn't stop.
 
In everyday life: I never look at someone without their permission though I may sometimes offer advice if I feel it’s ‘safe’ and that they’d welcome it. But I use intuition a lot and I know who I can trust and who I can really rely on.
 
My take on it: I think it’s a weird gift. The more people who find out, the more they want readings – and I feel bad sometimes that I can’t help as much as I’d like as this is not a full-time job for me.
 
Likes: Dogs, London walks and religious icons – not because I’m religious but because I believe in ‘belief’.
 
Dislikes: Negative moany or closed-minded people.
