About Scorpio Horoscopes

Scorpio is the eighth astrological sign in the Zodiac, originating from the constellation of Scorpius. In western astrology, this sign is no longer aligned with the constellation as a result of the precession of the equinoxes. In Astrology, Scorpio is considered a water sign, and is one of four fixed signs which can influence Scorpio horoscopes. Individuals born when the Sun was in this sign are considered Scorpio individuals. Under the tropical zodiac, the Sun is in Scorpio from October 24 to November 21, and under the sidereal zodiac, it is currently from November 16 through December 15. The Indian equivalent of Scorpio is Vrishchika. The Chinese equivalent is thought to be the strong, resolute Pig, whose lunar month is 8 November - 6 December. Scorpio is widely thought to be compatible with Cancer and Pisces. When a Scorpio comes into contact with these signs there is often love in Scorpio horoscopes.

Being a water sign, Scorpio is considered highly emotional, passionate, intuitive and imaginative. Being a fixed sign it is determined, persevering, inflexible and self-confident. All of these characteristics influence Scorpio horoscopes. Traditionally, the planet Mars has been considered to be the ruler of Scorpio, and since its discovery, Pluto has been considered a modern ruler of this sign as well. Some modern astrologers consider Pluto to be a more appropriate rulership over the sign, citing the reason for Mars having initially ruled the sign being that Pluto had not yet been discovered. As the eighth sign in the zodiac, Scorpio is associated with the astrological house number 8, which is associated with natural Scorpio matters - birth, death, transformation, sexual relationships and deeply committed relationships of all kinds, and the occult and psychic matters are all common in their Scorpio horoscopes.

In mythology Scorpio is often associated with Hades, Lord of the Underworld, who was known in Roman mythology as Pluto, and Orpheus from the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Scorpio is also associated with the Greco-Roman gods Ares/Mars. The constellation is also associated with the scorpion that killed Orion. Scorpio is the Zodiac sign that indicates the deepest interest in sexual matters, and for most Scorpios, sex is an expression of love. In medical astrology Scorpio governs the reproductive system and sexual organs. In Tarot, Scorpio is associated with the Death card, specifically as a form of regeneration. All these factors influence Scorpio horoscopes.

Astrologers broadly agree that people born under the sign Scorpio are: passionate, powerful, penetrating, intense, determined, compelling, purposeful, keenly perceptive, brave, complex, analytical Inquisitive, sensual, mysterious, resourceful, ambitious, hypnotic, creative, compassionate, humble, quiet, encompassing, passionate, shock-proof, understanding of their failings. When frustrated or unhappy, Scorpios can be: self-destructive, ruthless, overbearing, suspicious, jealous, possessive, dangerous, quick-tempered, obstinate, moody, sadistic, insulting, secretive, intolerant, cunning, vindictive. All of these characteristics have a bearing on Scorpio horoscopes.

Suitable occupations include: detective, pathologist, surgeon, scientist, researcher, undertaker, insurer, market analyst, butcher, member of the armed service, politician, pharmacist. Likes: activity, mysteries, secrets, winning, sex, being acknowledged, strategy. Astrology - Scorpio Horoscopes

Astrology is a group of beliefs about how the position of the planets impact on what we get up to on earth and how we are as people. A common assumption is that how the planets are placed can explain past, present and future events.

Most astrologers these days don't try to predict the future but instead look to the skies to reflect trends and developments. You'll probably be most familiar with Western and Chinese astrology; the first focuses on the casting of an astrological chart for an event based on the position of the Sun, Moon and planets, while Chinese astrology is all about the celestial equator. However, both have 12 signs and accordingly dictate who you are, what you're about and Scorpio horoscopes. It's different to astronomy which is the study of objects and phenomena beyond the Earth's atmosphere although the two disciplines used to be confused.
